Deputy - If Parliament fails to give confidence to the government the next time it will be dissolved and elections will be heldBAGHDAD – Mawazine News
, a member of the House of Representatives confirmed on Tuesday that in case the parliament fails to vote next time on the government cabinet, it will be dissolved and early elections will be held.
Representative Riyad Al-Masoudi said, “The constitution gave the President of the Republic a 15-day deadline for assignment after the failure of the previous government to present the House of Representatives.”
Al-Masoudi pointed out that “in the event that the next government cabinet is not voted on next time, the parliament will be dissolved and early elections will be held, so this step will be the last opportunity for the current parliament.”
The deputy continued, “This matter will lead to the political process reaching a dead end tunnel that includes the disruption of the parliament and the state, because the current government is a caretaker government,” noting that “the current circumstance does not allow prolonging the crisis and keeping the country without a government.” End 29 / A 43
