The deputy of the Sadqoun Parliamentary Bloc, Muhammad al-Baldawi, affirmed on Monday that Qusay al-Suhail, Mustafa al-Kazimi, Ali Shukri and Asaad al-Eidani had become burnt papers to take over as prime minister and would not be re-nominated during the search for an alternative to Muhammad Allawi.
Al-Baldawi said in a press statement, “The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, will assign a new personality after the apology of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi within the next two days,” noting that “Saleh will assign a figure in accordance with the political blocs and will not exceed them, as happened with Allawi’s mandate.”
He added that “the presentation of a personality for the position of prime minister, whose passing is achieved depending on the compatibility of the political blocs with Saleh by choosing them,” noting that “Qusay al-Suhail, Mustafa al-Kazemi, Ali Shukri and Asaad al-Eidani have become burnt papers to take over as prime minister and Saleh will not be assigned any of them.”
And that “Al-Suhail, Al-Kazemi, Shukri and Al-Aidani have presented their names earlier and will not get political support and re-putting them up again as a waste of time.”
The head of the Bayraq Al-Khair bloc, MP Mohammed Al-Khaldi, confirmed today, Monday, that the political blocs entered into a dilemma with the announcement of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to proceed with forming the government, stressing that the alternative will be more difficult.
