Deputy Fateh Fadel Jaber, a coalition member, warned on Saturday that failure to pass the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, which he will present this week, will compel parliament to dissolve himself within a maximum period of six months in order to hold early elections.
Jaber said in a statement to “Information”, that “Prime Minister Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi is on the verge of choosing his ministerial cabinet and will be presented during the current week, but the political blocs do not have complete information about the ministers who were chosen by Allawi.”
Jaber added, “The fact that the blocs are not aware of the new ministers’ conduct will lead to obstruction in the vote, and perhaps Allawi will fail to pass the cabinet, which will enter the depth of the dark tunnel.”
He pointed out that “in the event that the cab is not passed, the President of the Republic will assume the presidency of the Council of Ministers for the conduct of business, thereby forcing Parliament to dissolve itself within a maximum period of six months and to hold early elections.”
