11-10-2012 Newshound Guru Mountainman Just a reminder to everyone, Saleh said last month that in November they would begin to replace “damaged currency” with new lower denoms, even though that’s just 1% of the Iraqi currency used. In actuality, it’s far less of a percentage because the USD is used for transactions in the market place. So, here we are in November. Keep an eye on the CBI and a release of new 250 and 1000 dinars. You would think the higher notes that get used more would have a great need to be replaced for damage. Makes me wonder if this is a cover for a rate change and LD [lower denom] release in Nov, which is only 2 months longer than the original plan. Iraq absolutely will revalue their currency and they will also be removed from Chp7. Don’t give up on 2012 yet. This could still very well be our year!! Read more…

11-8-2012 Newshound Guru Mountainman Yet another article this morning about lifting Iraq’s Chapter 7 sanctions. The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister said that this year will mark the end of the outstanding problems with Iraq. If this isn’t a clear sign of progress, I don’t know what is. We’ve seen complete international support for their Chp7 removal (UN, Russia, US, China, Kuwait etc.). It kinda makes you wonder what could be the holdup. A tradeable currency perhaps? We know that it is parliament but at present Maliki has step over his powers. We will see parliament come together to reverse this. 11-2-2012 Newshound Guru Tlar  Every time this comes up that Iraq is being backed by a country to exit Chapter VII it doesn’t happen. It is always lip service. I doubt the US will back Iraq when the vote is done partly because of what’s going on with Shabibi but mostly because of Maliki’s support of Iran and Assad. He has violated Chapter VII sanctions by allowing shipments of arms to Assad by Iran that he sanctioned, allowing them to go through Iraq. Biden was his biggest supporter but he is not anymore. Maliki denied this (he lied) but was caught in his lies. If at this particular time the US does back Iraq for release of Chapter VII I think that Maliki will be able to complete the job and emerge as the new dictator of Iraq. Chapter VII is the only leverage the UN has that allows for the US to stay involved. We placed 13000 marines in Iraq 2 weeks ago. We did not need the permission from Iraq.
