12-26-2012 Newshound Guru SWFloridaGuy The Iraqi parliament decided today to adjourn its regular session until January 8 due to lack of quorum. You’d think with so many important items on the docket (CBI policy etc.), deputies would show up for work… Iraq is moving forward IMO but they sure do it at their own pace, which is way too slow for us Westerners. Despite their best efforts, I do think that Iraq will become a leader in the region. Eventually, international pressure and corporate investment will appeal to the politicians sense of greed, which makes an economic recovery most likely inevitable. Read more…

12-24-2012 Newshound Guru SWFloridaGuy I am still VERY confident that we will see large profits from this. I just recognize that it’s not a given and that neither side (Lop or RV) can prove their arguments at this point. Many are saying that I encourage others to believe in all Iraqi articles. Quite the contrary, I don’t believe in most Iraqi articles actually. I do believe that the HCL, Chapter VII, permanent ministers and a power sharing GOI etc., are all great indicators of general progress though. The only problem is the GOI and CBI has shown very poor punctuality. I have no idea what path the CBI is going to take for sure…this has been a learning process for us all. 12-23-2012 Newshound Guru SWFloridaGuy Whether there are several incremental adjustments or a historical large currency appreciation of 100,000% to get us to 1 to 1, I do think Iraq will accomplish returning their currency to it’s previous levels by increasing the value of the paper currency in a quantitative sense in relation to the current value of 1 USD. The global monetary system is broken and although the IQD is not the world’s savior by any means, I do believe Iraq presents a unique opportunity and may serve the role of a fulcrum in its recovery. To me it is starting to look like a well-orchestrated movement that is now receiving leaked documents of all kinds of meant to incriminate Maliki and the SOL and erode their base. So, if there is a “closed door” agreement to complete Chapter 7, or HCL, or Erbil – then any of them can happen first with the understanding that the rest of the chips will IMMEDIATELY fall into place. In other words, if the agreements are in place… it doesn’t matter which happens “first”. They can all happen at the same time, and we will simply hear about one before the other. Also, an article came out “The CBI board give the CBI governor permission to raise the value of the dinar”, that just tickles the fire out of me. It cannot do them any good to come out low and creep up. They have to come out with a value that can stabilize their economy and that is what Dr. Shabibi said many, many, many times. He wanted it to come out at a median rate where that over the next 24 to 36 months he wants it to stay at that median rate and allow them to grow and to stabilize their economy.
