A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Repin Salam, said on Saturday that his party rejects the decision to dismiss Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and his government and considers them the last chance to save Iraq.

Salam said in an interview for (Baghdad today), “The Kurdish blocs will boycott the parliament session for this day, because they believe that these demonstrations are driven by the political parties to overthrow the current government.”

He added that “the government still did not take its real role because of the pressure imposed on them by the parties and Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi does not bear the current bad situation, because he inherited the heavy legacy of his predecessors represented by the complete disintegration of the Iraqi components.”

He pointed out that “the Democratic Party supports the Prime Minister and his government to overcome this crisis, and emphasize that the dismissal of the current government will generate chaos and instability within the Iraqi political scene.”

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on Friday, the resignation of the Iraqi government, “Shala Qala” and that the right of Iraqi blood.

“I demand the full resignation of the Iraqi government and the start of early elections supervised by the United Nations,” Sadr said in a letter.

He added that “what is happening now is a disregard for Iraqi blood can not be tolerated.”
