(Baghdad: Al Furat News) A study prepared by Iraqi universities reached an important result in five proposed treatments against the Corona virus.
A scientific study prepared by a joint research team from the universities of Al-Mustansiriya, Dhi Qar and Al-Farabi University College, evaluated the effectiveness of the treatments (oseltamivir, chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, rifavirin and calatra) proposed by the Iraqi Ministry of Health to deal with patients of the emerging corona virus {COVID19}.
The study included its research team consisting of the teaching faculty at the University of Al-Mustansiriya University, Dr. Alia Essam Mahmoud and the faculty at the University of Dhi Qar Magda Ghazi Maktouf and the faculty at Al-Farabi University College Dr. Abdul Qadir Saeed Latif, performing a computer simulation of the molecular fusion of the five treatments with the three-dimensional protein {lysosomal protease} of a virus {COVID19}, as well as an assessment of the binding energy between the treatment and the active protein fraction.
The results of the computer study of the five treatments confirmed that the two chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine} have the highest effectiveness against the {Lysosomal protease} protein {COVID19}, while the other compounds did not show good effectiveness against the same target of the virus.
The study, published in the International Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, classified under the Scopas container, recommended the use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine as a preferred treatment for dealing with Iraqi patients with coronavirus and with appropriate doses
