The head of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, confirmed on Tuesday that the interest of Iraq and its people is more important than paying attention to “narrow” interests, while referring to the issue of circumventing the constitution in 2010.
Allawi said, in a tweet on his account on the website “Twitter” today, “Iraq is still paying the price and repercussions of not respecting the constitution and circumventing the right of the winning Iraqi list in the 2010 elections,” in reference to the former Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki, circumventing the constitution at the time.
He added that “time does not wait, the interest of Iraq and its people is in danger, and this is more important than paying attention to narrow regional interests or preoccupation with those who are bigger and smaller.”
He continued, “Wisdom, dream and experience are required now.”
