The leader of the Sadrist movement, the governor of Zamili, revealed, on Monday, that there is a desire among the majority of political blocs not to hold early elections, while describing resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi as “impartial.”
Al-Zamili said in a televised interview that “there will be no early elections because there is almost a desire among the majority of political blocs not to pass the issue of early elections.”
He added, “I will not enter politics if this matter (early elections) proceeds,” noting that “the blocs left the election law suspended and will not pass it.”
On the other hand, Al-Zamili described resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi as “impartial, but his administration was confused by the team that transformed him,” expecting “Abdul-Mahdi to continue his position if Al-Kazemi failed in his mission.”
