Member of Parliament Kazem Al-Sayyadi confirmed on Sunday that the process of passing the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi is still going through a difficult labor, warning of the repercussions of not passing the cabinet or passing it without political consensus.
Al-Sayyadi said in a press statement, “Allawi faces objections from prominent political forces, as well as the popular movement, which demands an independent personality far from the parties,” stressing that “Allawi’s government is still going through a difficult struggle in the wake of the parliamentary division.”
He added, “Parliament is divided into three sections between supporter and opponent and others canning on the last paper.” He pointed out that “Allawi’s government, if it passed without political consensus, will fail, and if it does not pass, we will witness a political controversy that does not extend its consequences and the victim is the Iraqi citizen.”
The member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Ahmed Al-Saffar, had confirmed in a previous statement that his party had not reached a final agreement yet regarding the process of passing the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.
