Thaer al-Jubouri, a member of the House of Representatives, called on Tuesday for a review of the prisons in which those accused of corruption deals and theft of public money are kept, while stressing that there are parties working to protect the accused and ensure the provision of a “VIP” life despite the deals involved in them.
Al-Jubouri said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “Most of the political blocs support the Minister of Interior, Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, in reforming the reality of Iraqi prisons, which were infiltrated by some of the influential parties of the corrupt and the thieves of public money,” noting that “there are parties working to protect the accused and ensure the provision of life.” VIP” despite the suspicious deals, for fear of recognition of his supporters outside the prison.”
And he continued, “There must be special care in the implementation of judgments against those accused of wasting public finances and corruption deals, and not to stop the execution against them,” pointing out that “it is necessary to conduct a review of the prisons in which those accused of corruption deals and theft of public money are kept.”
Member of Parliament, Muhammad Saadoun, had confirmed in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, that “it is dangerous to repeat the smuggling of the former head of the Sunni Endowment, which took place in view of the serious repercussions on the general situation in the country,” calling for “the need to tighten security on the prisons of the accused in Cases of corruption and theft from officials.”
