The former prime minister and the leader of the victory coalition Haider al-Abadi led a wide movement to topple the government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and the formation of alternative alternative, according to political sources revealed to (Watan News).
The sources said that “Abadi recently held meetings with Bechtel and political figures from the Shiite, Sunni and even Kurdish components, in addition to the US envoy in Iraq, Brett McGurk, indicating that Abadi raised during those meetings his project to topple the government of Abdul Mahdi and the formation of another presidency.
He added that “the motives of Abadi to topple the government of Abdul-Mahdi came because of criticisms against some ministers of Abdul-Mahdi, and the failure of the victory alliance on positions in the new government angered Abadi and make him think of a new government that meets the rights of all blocs involved in the political process.”
The sources said that “Abadi will initiate the process of toppling the government of Abdul Mahdi by moving the parliament to withdraw confidence from them.”
