On Saturday, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Imad Bajlan, described future Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi as a “man of the stage”, noting that keeping it is the best solution.
Baglan said in a press statement that “talking about an alternative to Allawi is very difficult because of the fragmentation of the political position between the parliamentary parties,” saying that “Abdul-Mahdi is the man of the stage and he is the best person to run the country until the elections are held after less than a year.”
He added that “after October 1, Abdul-Mahdi announced his readiness to submit the resignation while he was not adhering to the position, and the current situation is a complete mess and we see in this man the goodness and harmony, which is acceptable to all political parties despite its observations.”
Regarding his party’s position on holding early elections, Baglan affirmed, “We welcome early elections, but in calm conditions that are acceptable to all.”
