A lawmaker reveals the first duties of the House of Representatives at its next sessions

A member of the Legal Committee in the House of Representatives, Yahya al-Muhammadi, revealed on Thursday (16 April 2020), the first task before the parliament after the resumption of its sessions in the coming days, indicating that voting on the new election law must be a priority.
And Muhammad said, “The new election law will be the first task before the parliament when its sessions resume, especially in the absence of anything that impedes its passing,” noting that “the law was voted on in terms of form, and what remains is the issue of multiple electoral constituencies that represent the content of the law and awaiting Voting on it as well.
”He added that,“ There is no obstacle to voting on the election law except for holding the session to vote on it, ”noting that“ the agreement will take place on the approval of multiple constituencies.
During its session, on Tuesday (December 24, 2019), the House of Representatives voted on the election law legislation, the most prominent of which stipulated the adoption of multiple constituencies within the governorate and the granting of seats to the winners with the highest votes on the basis of individual nominations and not on the basis of lists.
