Wednesday (15 April 2020), Member of Parliament Amer Al-Fayez revealed leaks regarding the government program for the government of the Prime Minister-designate, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, while noting that the majority of political blocs submitted the names of their candidates for ministerial portfolios to Al-Kazemi.
The winner said in a press statement, “The government program will focus, according to some leaks, on the economic and security aspect, and the holding of early parliamentary elections, which depend on the completion of the election law and the agreement of the new government with the Electoral Commission.”
The representative of Basra Governorate said, “Mustafa Al-Kazemi may present the government program and his proposed ministerial list, within a period of ten to fifteen days to Parliament,” noting that “Al-Kazemi’s special team is currently busy writing the government program.”
He pointed out that “the continuous meetings and meetings between the Prime Minister-designate and the political blocs have created a positive atmosphere that will help in facilitating the passage of the government if it is presented for voting inside the parliament dome,” adding that “the understandings focused on how to arrange the ministerial status.”
He pointed out that “the formation of the government was not completed in its final form, but the negotiations are conducted in a smooth and very easy way, and did not face any difficulties or obstacles, and therefore this matter will help the taxpayer to present his government cabinet before the end of the constitutional dates, because it is supported by all the political blocs and components.” .
He explained, “The political blocs have begun submitting the names of their candidates for ministerial portfolios to the Prime Minister-designate,” noting that “some parliamentary blocs demanded specific ministerial portfolios, then sent the names of their candidates to these ministries,” stressing that “the upcoming ministerial formation will be in cooperation between Al-Kazemi and the political blocs.” “.
The winner warned that “some of the blocs did not send their candidates to the ministries, which prompted Al-Kazemi to make contacts with specific people to nominate them directly without referring to the political blocs,” stressing “that there are differences within the one component on the names of the candidates, as well as on the distribution of ministries.”
And regarding the conditions that were put before the candidates of the ministries, between Al-Kazemi, that “one of the conditions is that it be fair, efficient, professional and independent, and that it be nominated by the blocs.”
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister-designate, Mustafa al-Kazimi, announced the completion of his cabinet and the negotiation stage.
“The names of the members of the government booth are now ready, and I am in the process of negotiating with the political blocs on this in order to pass them into the parliament dome as soon as possible so that I can start working according to the pressing priorities,” Al-Kazemi said in an interview, reported by Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
He called “the political blocs to cooperate to cross the current crisis as long as my government has a specific goal which is preparing for early elections, in addition to resolutely addressing the urgent challenges that were not expected until two months ago and that is the Corona virus, and what has become a real threat to all the peoples of the world, and the economic crisis Which represented a sharp decline in oil prices, which requires us to take firm and strong measures in order to cross this crisis. ”
Last Thursday, President Barham Salih, Al-Kazemi, was appointed to form the government after the former Prime Minister-designate Adnan al-Zorfi announced his apology for the mission for “internal and external” reasons that he did not disclose.
