Erbil: Asayish warns citizens against using cryptocurrencies and coins

Shafaq News/ The General Directorate of Asayish in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, warned citizens on Tuesday against dealing in electronic and metal currencies, “Forex” and “USDT ,” stressing that this type of currency is not officially licensed in Iraq and the region.
A statement issued by the Directorate, received by Shafaq News Agency, stated that dealing in all types of electronic and metallic currencies, “Forex” and “USDT, ” is prohibited by law. “Forex” companies and electronic currencies are not licensed in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and do not have an official license to operate.
The statement called on citizens in the Kurdistan Region to distance themselves from this type of dealings to avoid financial losses.
