The Prime Minister’s advisor for foreign relations, Farhad Alaaldin, confirmed on Thursday that Iraq’s energy exports are not covered by the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
Alaa Al-Din said in a press statement that “Iraq’s energy exports, including crude oil, are not included in the tariffs imposed by Trump,” indicating that “the economic impact of US tariffs on Iraq is very limited.”
Alaa Al-Din added, “The strategic partnership between Iraq and the United States is solid and strong,” noting that “Iraq continues its commitment to deepening cooperation with the United States in various sectors.”
