On Tuesday, a political bloc revealed an important meeting after the Eid holiday to resolve the presidency of the House of Representatives.
The Secretary-General of Bayraq Al-Khair, Muhammad Al-Khalidi, said in a statement to the Maalouma Agency, “There is no hope for an alliance that has advanced to obtain the presidency of the House of Representatives, and its ability to maneuver politically has become very weak with the recent split, which has ended any efforts in this direction, but on the other hand, the framework forces are putting pressure on “Unifying the opinions of the Sunni forces to support a consensus candidate to proceed with the decisive session.”
He added, “After the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday, the Sunni forces will hold an important meeting in order to decide the leadership of the House of Representatives, stressing that “postponing the decision option will embarrass the Sunni forces in front of their audience, as it is a postponement of the entitlement of this component.”
He pointed out that “Sunni consensus is difficult, but not impossible, in the corridors of politics, and there is a movement currently taking place behind the scenes in order to proceed with specific options to resolve the position of presidency of the House of Representatives.”
It is noteworthy that Taqadum suffers from repeated defections that have weakened its ability in the House of Representatives amid the emergence of other Sunni forces.
