On Thursday, member of the State of Law coalition, Saad Al-Muttalabi, considered Al-Halbousi’s attempts to persuade some Sunni parties as compensation for his failure in the political process, while confirming that Al-Halbousi’s party was politically finished.
Al-Muttalabi said in a statement to the Maalouma Agency, “Al-Halbousi has ended politically, and his attempts to persuade some political blocs are a cover for his failure in the political process,” noting that “Al-Halbousi has lost his ability to influence the political blocs.”
He continued, “Al-Halbousi’s party will inevitably disappear, if not in the next elections, then in the elections that follow and after them there will be no political movement called progress,” pointing out that “the end of Al-Halbousi’s party will take place in a gradual process that begins with his surrender of the presidency of the House of Representatives and the withdrawal of most of the party’s representatives and ends.” By losing the trust of his remaining fans.”
It is noteworthy that last week, 11 deputies withdrew from Al-Halbousi’s party due to the party’s dictatorial policy and imposing decisions on the representatives who represent their constituencies.
