In turn, the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Parliamentary bloc, Ikhlas al-Dulaimi, told Shafaq News Agency, “During the next two days, there will be a meeting between the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani and the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, to agree on a joint candidate between the two parties for the presidency.”

And she indicated that “the meeting will produce an agreed candidate between the two parties for the presidency, and if we do not reach an agreement, we are not ready to participate in a government that does not guarantee the electoral merit of the Democratic Party.”

She pointed out that “forming the government will take more time by selecting ministers according to electoral benefits and giving them confidence in the House of Representatives.”
