The Joint Operations Command hosted, today, Tuesday, in Baghdad the third meeting of the Military Coordination and Joint Security Action Committee between the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to discuss issues of common security concern along the line separating the federal forces and the Peshmerga.

A statement by the Joint Operations Command stated that the meeting aims to identify the nature of security threats and pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, and to take military and security measures to address the loopholes, and the following was agreed upon:

First. Begin to open the two main joint security coordination centers in Baghdad and Erbil.

Secondly. Forming joint field security and military committees to assess security challenges according to operational sectors and axes, and preparing a roadmap to deal with them.

Third. Initiate the security and military work of Diyala Boycott to establish the Joint Security Coordination Center and agree on the mechanism of work of the common checkpoints and contact points, and plan to carry out joint military and security operations against terrorism and crime.
