Parliamentary Finance: The 2020 budget will focus on the operational side

The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, that the general budget for 2020 will be brief and will focus on the operational side, while it indicated that the next budget will be different.
Committee member Ahmed Al-Saffar said, according to the official agency, that “approving the general budget in Parliament depends on sending it by the government.”
He added, “The 2021 budget will be different and compensatory for the 2020 budget, and it will be special according to the conditions that Iraq faces with regard to the health, financial and security crisis, as well as the preparations for early elections.”
Al-Saffar suggested that “the 2021 budget will be based on two oil prices, the first is fixed, which includes the operational side and fixed expenditures, and the other is movable and depends on the investment budget, meaning in the event that oil prices rise and reach the price of the investment budget, investments are started and if the prices remain according to the price of the operating budget, it will be Reliance on them in carrying out basic obligations such as salaries, medicines, ration cards, etc. “Ended 29 / h
