Talabani to the US ambassador - The Kurds will not constitute an obstacle to forming a government but rather part of the solution{Baghdad: Al Furat News} As part of his visit to Baghdad at the head of a high-level government delegation, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, received at his residence in Baghdad today, Wednesday, the US Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Toller.
In the meeting, which was attended by Minister of Finance and Economy Awat Sheikh Janab and Prime Minister Omid Sabah, the two sides discussed the latest developments and measures related to combating the outbreak of the Corona virus, in addition to the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan region and Baghdad and the efforts to form a new federal government.
Talabani said that “his visit to Baghdad comes to solve problems and end them between the region and the federal government on the basis of the constitution and previous understandings between them.”
In light of Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s mandate to form the new government, Talabani indicated that the Kurds will not constitute an obstacle to forming this government, but will be part of the solution to install security and stability in Iraq and work to end all outstanding issues between the two parties.
The delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government began, on Wednesday morning, a series of meetings in Baghdad, with a meeting with the American ambassador.
The delegation will also hold an important meeting with the Minister of Oil, Deputy Prime Minister Thamer Al-Ghadban, to discuss outstanding issues between Baghdad and Kurdistan and the salary file for the region’s employees.
The delegation will also meet with the Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kazemi, followed by a meeting with Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, then with the President of the National Wisdom Stream Ammar al-Hakim, and the head of the State of Law coalition Nuri
