On Thursday, the Iraqi Forces Alliance confirmed that it is seeking to topple the government of Prime Minister-designate Mohammed Allawi in parliament, and not to postpone the parliament session designed to grant confidence.
“We do not want to postpone the voting session to give confidence to the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi,” said coalition spokesman Faleh al-Issawi.
“We only want to bring down the Allawi government in parliament,” he added.
A parliamentary source said, today, Thursday, that the House of Representatives postponed its session devoted to voting on the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Allawi, half an hour, because the quorum was not completed.
