Protesters set fire to the second gate of the American embassy in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in protest against the American bombing of crowd sites.
The protesters stormed the American embassy in Baghdad today, Tuesday, in protest against the American bombing of the sites of the Popular Mobilization.
Clashes between the embassy guards and the protesters resulted in the injury of dozens of people.
The Iraqi authorities called on the protesters to move away from the embassy, and confirmed their concern to protect foreign diplomatic headquarters in the country.
For his part, the US President, Donald Trump, held Iran fully responsible for storming the American embassy in Baghdad, adding that the United States expects “Iraq to use its forces to protect the embassy.”
