The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed today, Wednesday, that it has included a paragraph to export surplus crops in the 2020 budget.
A statement of the Ministry received the All Iraq News Agency [where] that “the Minister of Agriculture, Saleh Al-Hassani, and the Minister of Industry, Saleh Al-Jubouri signed a memorandum to market all fertilizers produced locally by the Ministry of Industry to the agricultural sector in support of the local product.”
Al-Hassani stressed, according to the statement, “The purchase of locally produced fertilizers will save more than (400) billion for the state treasury and that the signing of the memorandum comes as a second stage for papers and other agreements previously signed to receive urea fertilizers from the Ministry of Industry and grant them to farmers in a manner that contributes to encouraging the local product, operating the workforce and providing The hard currency of the country, especially after the successes achieved by the Ministry of Agriculture in raising agricultural production levels and achieving sufficiency of wheat crop and large increases in areas designated for paddy cultivation as well as the inclusion of a paragraph to export surplus crops within the budget of 2020.
He added that “the plans adopted by the Ministry, such as the advancement of the date sector and the provision of large sums, amounted to (150) billion dinars, and the establishment of a scientific center specializing in the palm sector, and that signing this memorandum is in line with the public demands to support the local product.”
