The Council of Ministers, on Saturday, an extraordinary session called by the President of the Council Adel Abdul Mahdi to present the subject of his resignation and the government and submitted to the House of Representatives, and to discuss the implications of the government of the day-to-day running of things in accordance with the Constitution.

“The principle of the peaceful transfer of power in the democratic system and the realization of the interests of the people is an easy goal,” the prime minister said.
He pointed out that “the government has made every effort to respond to the demands of the demonstrators and to provide reform packages, appointments, plots of residential land and important bills such as the Electoral Law and the Commission and the Federal Service Council, and the file of the positions of the agency, the preparation of the federal budget, and work under an integrated government program,” calling on the House of Representatives to ” “I call on members of the government to continue their work until the formation of the new government.”
The statement pointed out that “the Prime Minister reviewed the complex circumstances in which the government was formed and the challenges faced and the achievements made in the past period at the internal level and external relations.”
And that, “the Council voted at the conclusion of the special session on the resignation of the Director of the Office of the Prime Minister Mohammed al-Hashemi [Abu Jihad] and Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Hamid al-Ghazi.”
