Amnesty International says Iranian-made “lethal projectiles” have been used against protesters participating in demonstrations in Iraq since early October.

The organization conducted a new update on its October 31 press release, which explained that “in addition to the Serb-made tear gas bombs Sloboda اتa 99ak M99-99 previously identified, a large part of the lethal projectiles is actually liquefied gas bombs. “The M651 tears and the M713 smoke bombs were made by the Iranian Defense Industries Organization.”

Amnesty International noted that it “has no information about the identity of the Iraqi security forces,” which are firing Iranian M651 and M713 bombs in Baghdad.

Since its findings were first published on October 31, the organization has seen and verified video evidence of four additional deaths caused by Serbian and Iranian bombs, Amnesty said.

Amnesty International has received a large number of additional images of weapons used to disperse demonstrators, through sources on the ground, according to the statement.

The organization called on the Iraqi authorities to immediately stop “lethal bombs that have never been used before, to kill protesters rather than disperse them,” calling for an independent investigation into their use and “unlawful” killings and injuries during protests, and holding any security forces accountable for excessive use of force.
