An armed faction sent a death threat letter to House Speaker Muhammad Halabousi because of his stance on the US-Iranian conflict.
The House’s legal adviser Sabah al-Karbouli said in a press statement today that “Halabousi received a threatening message bearing the slogan (Hezbollah Brigades Iraq), and demanding a specific political position of the crisis between Washington and Tehran,” according to Radio Sawa.

“The speaker of the parliament informed some political figures of the contents of this letter to verify it,” he said.

Al-Arabiya television quoted unnamed sources as saying that “the threat message carrying the seal and logo of the Iraqi Hezbollah was delivered by intercepting the car of the Halbusi secretary on a street in Baghdad and asking him to hand over the letter personally to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.”

No government or political position has yet been issued or a response from the armed faction accused of sending the threat to House Speaker Mohammed Halboussi.
