Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Tuesday that Iraq’s move to ease tension between the United States and Iran would spare Baghdad the consequences of sanctions imposed by Washington on Tehran.
“We will have a visit to Washington and Tehran to discuss the situation in the region,” Abdul Mahdi said at his weekly conference.
“Soon an electronic window will be opened to file applications for the return of their contracts to the defense and the interior.”
On Eid al-Fitr holiday, Abdul-Mahdi said, “We have taken a decision in the Council of Ministers to determine the Eid holiday which begins next Tuesday.”
On the electricity file, Abdel-Mahdi said that the electricity distribution networks need great work, noting that “there is significant progress in the production of electric power.”
Elsewhere, Abdul-Mahdi said most of the crop fires were caused by accidental accidents or personal disputes, and farmers ‘and wheat farmers’ dues were paid directly.
