Minister of Water Resources Gamal al-Adli said on Tuesday that there is no danger to Baghdad and the rest of Iraq on the floods, pointing out that there is sufficient reserves of water for the current and next summer.
“There is no danger in the capital Baghdad and the rest of Iraq because of the floods coming from Iran,” Adli told a news conference. “All the dams are filled with water and we have adequate capacity for this water.”

“There are 32 billion cubic meters of water stored in the dams, which is sufficient during the coming summer and next,” he said. “Iraq’s rights to water must be obtained and we must take all diplomatic means with the upstream countries.”

The State of Iran was hit yesterday by a large wave of Seoul, while warned of air conditions of the danger of access to Iraqi territory, which prompted the Directorate of Civil Defense to take the necessary precautions in anticipation of any emergency.
