Revealed the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Vian Sabri, Saturday 26 January 2019, the fact of raising the share of the Kurdistan region of the budget to 20%.

Sabri said in a press statement that “the share of the province of the new budget 12.76%, and we were able to secure the percentage of employees and compensating the families of martyrs and salaries of Peshmerga, as well as political prisoners.”

She added that “the region was able through the budget to ease the expenses of the sovereign,” noting that “the Kurdish deputies tried as much as possible to accomplish what can be achieved in order to get full rights from the budget.”

The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc that “Article 10 paragraph II (b) guaranteed the pensions and needs of the Peshmerga forces included the Iraqi defense system and the federal authority to provide them.”

The government source, has revealed on Friday (25 January 2019), the amount of share of the Kurdistan region of the budget in 2019, while pointing out that it amounted to 13% of the budget.

The source said in an interview with (Baghdad today), “The share of the region according to the proportion of population 12.67% equal 9.427 trillion dinars, adding to the region’s share of the development of the regions amount of 253.400 billion dinars.”

He added that “after increasing the amount of regional development to 3 trillions, the share of the Kurdistan region of the development of regions 380.1 billion dinars.”

He pointed out that the share of Kurdistan “of the projects financed from foreign loans amounted to the budget of 2019 (102.361) billion dinars,” noting that “the salaries of the Peshmerga amounted to 842.048 billion dinars.”

He continued, “The total share of the region (10.751 trillion dinars), which is equivalent to 13.63%,” noting that “this budget on paper until the delivery of oil to Baghdad.”

On Thursday morning (January 24, 2019), the House of Representatives voted on the Federal Budget Law of 2019.

Under the law, Iraq’s revenues for the same year amounted to 105.5 trillion Iraqi dinars, after the price of a barrel of oil at $ 56, an export rate of 3.3 million barrels per day.

Public expenditures, according to the law voted on, 133.1 trillion dinars, while the value of the fee was 27.5 trillion dinars.

“The House of Representatives, for the first time, passed a budget without external borrowing, with only internal borrowing,” members of the Finance Committee of the Parliament said after the vote on the law.
