Parliament is considering five criminal cases against the Electoral Commission for dismissal[Ayna-Baghdad]
The head of the commission of follow-up and fact-finding, Adel Nuri, which was formed to look at violations and rigging of the elections, the submission of three lawsuits against the Electoral Commission.
Nuri said in a press statement that he “met three times with the members of the Electoral Commission Saeed Kaki and MP Mishan Jubouri to take information from them and three lawsuits were submitted to Parliament Speaker Salim Jubouri and approved and delivered to the Legal Department of the Parliament and tasked them to deliver such claims to the court on which to take the necessary action “He said.
He added that “there are two other cases in preparation, and will be in the coming days to compile the necessary evidence and organization and then submitted to the competent authorities to register against the Board of Commissioners.”
He pointed out that “all reports that the Commission will be prepared in the form of a criminal case against the Independent Electoral Commission for elections.”
“These reports will be submitted to the Public Prosecution, the Integrity Commission and the Court and immediately demand the resignation and investigation of the Board of Commissioners,” Nuri said, adding that they were also proposing nine judges to oversee UNHCR’s work.
