Forgetting Fukushima Radiation? A must read for all
Forgetting Fukushima Radiation? A must read for all

Everyone wants to forget all about Fukushima for who wants to remember their worst nightmares? I have written approximately fifty essays on the subject and live in the southern hemisphere and I too would rather forget and do not like to be reminded of the nuclear sore that remains on the surface of our once beautiful and pristine planet. That sore continues to fester and is only getting worse casting a giant shadow on our race and particularly on our children who are ten to twenty times more sensitive to radiation harm than us adults.
I do not like to think of our darkening future because I have six children the youngest of which is only six. Not only will they have to negotiate the rapidly approaching ice age and a great depression that will last decades, if not longer, and a planet running out of fresh water, good topsoil, and sickening pollution with thousands of chemicals and heavy metals like mercury, cadmium and lead, now we have the heavy hammer of vastly increasing levels of radiation, especially in the northern hemisphere and northern Pacific. Cancer rates are shooting up, especially in the developed northern hemisphere, and will continue to do so. Vast parts of our planet will experience what has been known as the Chernobyl effect.
Helen Caldicott
The Fukushima nuclear plant meltdown disaster “is not over and will never end,” warns Dr. Helen Caldicott, Nobel Peace Prize nominee and holder of 21 honorary doctorate degrees. “Radioactive fallout which remains toxic for hundreds to thousands of years will induce an epidemic of cancer as people inhale the radioactive elements, eat radioactive food and drink radioactive beverages. It is the greatest industrial accident in the Earth’s history.” Dr. Caldicott formerly taught pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and founded the Nuclear Power Research Institute of Washington, D.C. I began this essay when one of my readers on Facebook said that Dr. Caldicott is now telling people to move to the southern hemisphere.
The reason is expressed in the following headlines from writer George Washington: Fukushima Increased Cesium Levels 100 to 1,000 Times Worldwide and 1,000,000 to 10,000,000 Times On the U.S. West Coast.

Hawaii is right in the middle of that horror story that Forbes is saying not to worry about. This is what Leuren Moret has to say about going to Hawaii. “Anyone going to Hawaii now is exposing themselves to horrendous levels of radiation, and in a young female it may cause sterilization and will certainly affect her health history for the rest of her life. Taking her to Hawaii at this young age would be like taking her to Iraq or Afghan, but it is much worse because of nearly 2000 rad isotopes she will be exposed to. The constant releases from Fukushima are getting worse, and those releases are increasing the rad levels in the Pacific Fukushima debris field and the rad levels in the Pacific waters around Hawaii. There is no possibility that it is safe to eat anything now out of the Pacific above the equator, and even south of the equator rad is being reported with people dying in AU and New Zealand from rad levels. Even pets come inside and have detectable radiation dust on their fur in NZ. Cesium in very small amounts kills the heart and even toddlers are having heart attacks as far from Fukushima as the east coast of Canada and the US. I have been collecting obituaries from the Daily Cal and other sources on students and athletes who spent the summer in Hawaii surfing, came back last fall for classes and dropped dead of a heart attack at the age of 20.”
Officials reveal that about 2 Trillion becquerels of Fukushima radioactive material flowed into the ocean every month during 2013 — “Deadly strontium” releases are now more than double cesium — “Strontium gets into your bones… it changes the equation.” Strontium is a potentially lethal alkaline earth metal poses the biggest immediate concern, because, unlike cesium, it doesn’t get trapped in soil and tends to accumulate in bones of fish and animals if ingested. Do not even bother to imagine the horror when it gets into young children’s bones.
Officials wept at prime minister’s office in Tokyo: “I’m sorry, we’ve tried… but we are in a situation beyond our control” at Fukushima — Hours Later: “People’s blood ran cold”… “Huge hole” suspected to have opened up in No. 2 Reactor. “A hell of a lot of radioactive substances could come out,”.said a lead TEPCO worker.
I imagine a lot of people in California are weeping when they read, “California could be reaching ground zero as it bears the brunt Fukushima radiation carried by the Pacific jet stream. Michio Aoyama, senior scientist at the Japanese government’s Meteorological Institute, found that levels of cesium 137 at the surface of the Pacific could potentially be 10,000 times higher that the contamination at Chernobyl, whose nuclear explosion was the worst nuclear accident in the world before the Fukushima disaster.”
The headlines do nothing to reassure unless you keep reading the Forbes article over and over. ‘The Crushing Effects Of Radiation From The Fukushima Disaster On The Ecosystem Are Being Slowly Revealed.’
“A range of scientific studies at Fukushima have begun to reveal the impact on the natural world. Results of these studies are now beginning to reveal serious biological effects of the Fukushima radiation on non-human organisms ranging from plants to butterflies to birds. A series of articles summarizing these studies has now been published in the Journal of Heredity. These describe widespread impacts, ranging from population declines to genetic damage to responses by the repair mechanisms that help organisms cope with radiation exposure.”
“Common to all of the published studies is the hypothesis that chronic (low-dose) exposure to ionizing radiation results in genetic damage and increased mutation rates in reproductive and non-reproductive cells. One of the studies documented the effects of radiation on rice by exposing healthy seedlings to low-level gamma radiation at a contaminated site in Fukushima Prefecture. After three days, a number of effects were observed, including activation of genes involved in self-defense, ranging from DNA replication and repair to stress responses to cell death.”
Global Research gives us the 28 signs that the west coast is being fried by radiation from Fukushima citing the many disturbances occurring to our natural resources that have been linked to the radiation.
It has been eight months since my last publication on Fukushima. Out of sight is out of mind and that is exactly what the government, large corporations involved in the nuclear industry, the super-rich elite and mainstream press want. The problem with this is that people are not taking precautions. They are doing nothing to protect themselves and their families when they absolutely should. It is not so difficult to learn to use sodium bicarbonate even with the kids because they can take baths full of this safe and very effective medicine against radiation. Decades ago even the Army knew it could provide protection of the kidneys against Uranium contamination.
Iodine is another essential substance if you care about children. My Natural Allopathic protocol for cancer is also for radiation exposure for anything that treats or prevents cancer treats or prevents radiation contamination and its effects—which is cancer. We have to go out of our way to take care of ourselves and our families and that is no easy job in the 21st Century.
Micho Kaku is worth listening too. Though sometimes he downplays the dangers of radiation he is right on top of the realities at Fukushima. This is an excellent interview with physicist Michio Kaku on the grim realities of the Fukushima disaster, how people are fleeing Tokyo in droves, and, in no uncertain terms, that Obama’s plan to build more nuclear plants is a “Faustian bargain” and a deal with the devil.
