8-14-2014 Newshound Guru Chattels Article: “The head of the Iraq Center for Media Development, a member of the state of law coalition , Adnan al-Sarraj announced the postponement of the Federal Supreme Court, to Maliki’s appeal concerning Haider Abadi assignment and the formation of the next government, until further notice.” [im guessing M could have gotten the court to stall?] possible, but i would like to think that the stakes and pressures too great to “play” with or protract this situation any longer. [Are you saying they dismissed Maliki’s challenge?] i am not. the article says expressly that any decision is postponed until further notice…my sense is that Maliki cannot “win” the appeal.

8-14-2014 Intel/Newshound Guru tman23 Maliki has become a moot point… One of Abadi’s first moves is out…he is meeting with the Kurds in Kurdistan. They are meeting over the seating of the government and setting the roadmap that will help benefit future negotiations and resolve outstanding issues. The Kurds FIRST in this process is just spectacular.

8-14-2014 Newshound Guru lojak Article: “Bayraktar: Federal Court needs more time to decide on the pretext of al-Maliki” IMO, they arent going to rule, and are saying in essence that the situation is going to/or has resolved itself, in that the DAWA party has publicly dumped Maliki and Sastani is meeting with Abadi. The court has gone fishing–Maliki better pack his bags. It is my understanding that he is on a short timer. He better take a deal that has been put on the table or he may be meeting his maker. But the court clearly is saying that with the Dawa party and Sistani statements, this court ruling is not necessary.

8-14-2014 Newshound Guru lojak The US advised Abadi against doing his Press conference yesterday in Parliament and announcing his cabinet, to let the legal system do its thing. Since they ( the court) basically have passed, saying that the situaion has pretty much resolved itself with the Dawa party and Sistani statements–I would think that Abadi will probably move forward. BUT, it is my understanding that we (US/UN) want Maliki out…before any real military support happens and the RV occurs. There is a timer, and if he wants to live happily ever after, Maliki better take a deal.

8-14-2014 Newshound Guru Adam Montana [what still remains to be completed so an RV can happen?] At this time – successfully seat the new Prime Minister, form the new Government which should be much more friendly and likely to make the HCL a reality, control the situation with IS. [do you see things now more in our favor and moving quicker?] I do see things moving quicker now – if they successfully replace Maliki with Abadi, things should be much better for all of Iraq.

8-14-2014 Newshound Guru Aggiedad77 Maliki is still squirming as to be expected…IMO…he wants time to clear out his office…IMO…hidden meaning there…to purge any incriminating files that no one else needs to see…at this point he is not a well liked individual and because of the power that he has grown accustomed to having about him….he is reluctant to give it away. It has also been pointed out that even some of Maliki’s own allies may turn against him…especially those who have other loyalties in addition to just him. Continue to watch the news…especially that of and from the CBI.

8-13-2014 RUMOR Guru There have also announcements made about the banking system in the last 24 hours, and those do affect the RV in a very encouraging way. The IMF officially recognized that Iraq has an internationally traded currency. That has completely gone through. This morning we got a call from an Iraqi citizen in another country, and he said that today, for the first time, he could use his Qi card internationally. They are dancing in the streets about that. [If they are able to spend money on the Qi cards internationally, then how far behind can we be?] We are not telling you that in an hour you will be at the bank, but I can tell you that we are here. We are in a window, everyone is prepared…

8-13-2014 RUMOR Guru DC Bottom line, folks, is that things look very, very good. It’s similar to Monday where we had concrete steps in Iraq and to push the RV out. Iraq is making credible moves forward. Maliki has moved most of his papers out of his office and burned many of his files…Maliki is still there, but not really in play. The CBI and others have put out press statements saying they are implementing banking reforms, and the revaluation as it applies to everyone’s financial balance sheets. They have to use the new rates to reflect the new dinar. [some sources have been saying the Iraqi government has to be seated and stable, and until then Turki will not release the RV?] We have a good feel for where the CBI stands, and we don’t think that’s really an issue any longer. WE have been told to ramp up our preparations we believe this is coming out on a short timeframe.

NO. NO. NO. He only has the ability to delay his leaving. The Iraq President picked Ibadi as the next PM and Maliki has screamed ever since…. they were smart tho because Ibadi was from the same party as Maliki and because of the Pick it fractured the Party and Maliki now only has 28 people to support him and he would need 167. So as you can see…His only play is the delay leaving with every trick he can think of or go live in London where his house is and family.

8-13-2014 Intel Guru Randy Koonce Guys this process will be in and all over the news over here…if you have watched fox for the last few days they have been covering Iraq closely and everyone including the Ayatollah Khomeini from Iran has told Maliki to step down… So the steps that we are looking for is Maliki out of the GOI and Political process and Country then the RV will take place…Not before. No one has cashed out any Dinar and it will not be over 8 bucks. Just wait and this thing will happen. It is getting closer. The Reason they still call Maliki PM is because he has not stepped down but in reality he should have no power. But we will see the end within the next few days…And by end I mean Maliki out of the country.

8-13-2014 Newshound Guru Adam Montana I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…sometimes it’s good to be wrong. I’ve held onto the belief that Maliki would remain in the position of Prime Minister, but now there is a serious chance that he will be replaced. For those of you just tuning in, President Fuad Masum has made a bold move and declared Haider Al-Abadi the new PM, and gave him 30 days to form the government. There are a couple of things to consider on the matter, so I won’t be making any statements like “He is GONE” – it would be foolish to underestimate Maliki and possibly over-estimate the new President Fuad Masum’s ability to stand by his decision. Maliki does have supporters and is indeed a very powerful man in Iraq.

8-13-2014 Newshound Guru Adam Montana Another important point – the new President of Iraq is a Kurd (Sunni), but the new choice for Prime Minister was chosen out of the same political party as Maliki. This is a strong indicator of exactly how powerful the Shiite clan is in Baghdad and in the government there, which begs the question…Will a new PM make a difference? After much research on the new choice for PM Haider Al-Abadi, I think it will. Although they are of the same political party, Haider Al-Abadi is a much different man than Maliki… Abadi appears to be more of a diplomat. He will be much more likely to reach across the aisle and compromise or even help the Kurds, and that’s something that is desperately needed right now. So at this time, we wait a short 27 more days to see if Abadi can be successful in actually pushing Maliki out and forming a government.
