MP Sami Oshana, from the Christian Suwayana bloc, revealed on Tuesday the legislative and oversight mechanism that the House of Representatives will adopt to deal with the draft federal budget law for 2027 as soon as it is sent by the government.
Oshana told the Information Agency that “the Speaker of Parliament will provide each MP with a complete official copy of the draft, including articles and tables of the 2027 budget, as soon as it arrives in Parliament, to allow members of Parliament ample opportunity to review its details and figures and to record any substantive observations.”
He added that “the aim of this step is to subject all budget items to thorough discussions and close scrutiny before proceeding with the official readings to ensure that any financial gaps are addressed and allocations are distributed fairly,” stressing that “Parliament is keen to pass a budget that meets service and economic expectations and guarantees the entitlements of all components and segments of society.”
