8-9-2014 Intel Guru TD I just received this update from my Kurdish friend who indicates that thanks to US air strikes and the fierce fighting capability of the Kurdish forces that ISIS is NOT making any progress against their region. Most telling is the ENORMOUS pressure the Obama administration is making against M [Maliki] and other main political leaders in the country to “Move ahead swiftly with government formation and the placement of an inclusive PM “. Obama has laid it out very clearly to everyone that their only viable solution here is political and that the US military involvement is coupled with REAL AND IMMEDIATE Political solutions.
8-9-2014 Intel Guru TD All this translates to is that M is history and a new PM will be named as early as Sunday. Acceleration and formation of the government is imminent now. While humanitarian suffering is enormous this development is a blessing in disguise for all of the Iraqi people as their leaders MUST now act. The next couple days will certainly tell a very interesting story in this saga called Iraq.

8-9-2014 Newshound Guru Lojak Two major hurdles were crossed yesterday. 1) Masoum has now dictated that the National Alliance is the largest bloc. The SOL has recognized that fact, as they have been meeting with the Alliance to come up with THE name. 2) the SOL has dumped Maliki, and is taking two names into the Alliance meeting with them–Najm and Abadi. It is those two things yesterday that all should be very happy about. Now that the largest bloc is settled and the SOL has relented and agreed to nominate someone–the rest is “gravy”. I would anticipate that we will see a name by tomorrow.
8-9-2014 Newshound Guru Lojak We checked with our sources at the State Department yesterday about the possibility of Abadi being the new guy. I was concerned that another SOL guy was about win. They responded that he would be a very good candidate and the US would fully support his nomination…he was formally the head of the Parl. Finance committee and is very publicly pro RV. Once the new PM is in position, our RV will be shown.

CONSTITUTIONALLY THEY ARE TRYING TO HAVE A PM NAMED BY TOMORROW WITH THE LACK OF HOLIDAY DAYS IT SHOULD BE CORRECT IF THEY CAN GET IT DONE. THEY DO HAVE NAMES ON THE TABLE. 8-8-2014 RUMOR Guru [Let’s talk about ISIL/ISIS.] Even though it looks terrible on CNN, and parts are terrible, it can be controlled as soon as they want it to be. Meanwhile, there is a reason for how it looks…what you’re seeing is not everything that is going on. There is a control mechanism that is only partially activated, for a reason. The President said they would not give Iraq any help until Maliki was gone and they had a stable government that we could see. That help started yesterday.
[several folks have said in the news that President Obama and team have found an extra 500 billion dollars through various means…] This is part of exposing what we are part of. There will never be an announcement on the evening news that we have all this extra money suddenly. So far, everything should tell you that you had a great day yesterday, even if you didn’t know it. That is continuing today with what we know is going on. It may not be today, tomorrow or even Sunday by 5pm, but we know it’s coming.
8-8-2014 RUMOR Guru DC Over in Iraq we have a PM selected and most cabinet members as well. The PM, Speaker and President are all ready to go, and everyone is under locked guard. They have announced in their television, newspapers and mosques that the PM will be announced on Sunday. Maliki is still there but I’m 95% sure the PM won’t be him. President Obama got on world television last night and said that Iraq is announcing their PM in the next few days. And that puts pressure on everyone…What’s different is that he got on TV and said it in public.
I myself have been surprised by something else: several folks have said in the news that President Obama and team have found an extra 500 billion dollars through various means. Where do you have 500 billion dollars just show up? There are articles in US news sources about that…The general public will see the economy finally taking off… All the guys in the UST and the Fed are getting through the final checklist, meeting with banks and Homeland Security, getting ready for the distribution. Everyone is lined up, prepared, ready to go, and let’s pray this is the final thing.
8-8-2014 Newshound Guru tlm724 Obama said he had approved “targeted strikes against [ISIS] convoys should they approach the city.” I will tell you all …once the gate was opened for airstrikes there is no going back. This will be a swift and targeted campaign. We do NOT need boots on the ground for success! Iraq MUST appear the victor in this so that these terrorist cells won’t come back once the US is no longer present.
8-8-2014 Newshound Guru Bondlady what 1st started out as a protest for Malikis last term has turned into a full scale blood bath to rid him of his 3rd term…a real man and lover of his people would have stepped aside if he wasn’t so full of hatred for what was done to him on his 2nd term now he clings again to power for 3 reasons greed, power and paybacks…all wrong reasons for sure.
8-8-2014 Intel/Newshound Guru tman23 IMO, Yesterday evening Massoum made the call that the National Alliance was the largest bloc. The USA has confidence in knowing who the PM of Iraq is going to be. Hours after the US had confirmation, Obama makes his television appearance announcing military support…no combat troops!! But ya know combat troops and special forces are 2 different things. What we had last night is confirmation of a new PM and it is not Maliki! Maliki is NO MORE !
8-8-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Many have voiced their concern over the events revolving around the ISIS push into Kurdistan. Kurdistan has been keeping a watchful eye on the ISIS but what the ISIS did was to attempt to break out of the boundary that they have been allowed to occupy as they are used as the reason to oust a dictatorship. As soon as the new government takes its seat (hopefully this Sunday), these guys will be routed out of the areas they have been allowed to occupy in Iraq, pushing them back into Syria. They are what’s providing the urgency to the political process and for the time being a necessary evil.
8-8-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Both al-Jubouri and Masum, the new POP and the POR have threatened to quit if Maliki is brought to the floor as the next PM nominee. Everything seems to be building to this Sunday. It is now my belief that Maliki will have to be taken out because he is delusional and still believes that the votes he received are real and the people want him. Sunday we should see a two step process. The first is the declaration that the NA is the largest block and second a nominee for PM position. Depending on how that turns out, we will probably see a new government.
8-8-2014 RUMOR Guru Mnt Goat there was a delay in announcing the candidate until Thursday which was yesterday. This delay was to allow time to go back to the supreme court for a hearing on the topic of who is the majority bloc. The courts referred back to the 2010 decision once again and said their decision back then is final and it will not waive. By applying the decision the National Alliance is the overwhelming majority boc and so has the power to form the new government and thus sub the candidate to the president to forward to the name parliament. This was a very positive sign for us yesterday. This is what we all was wanted. So it now does not matter what Maliki demands or wants. His own party now no longer supports him.
I whole heartedly believe they did submit a candidate to the president yesterday and…They did meet their constitutional deadline. There is no constitutional requirement for them to announce globally their candidate for prime minister. This formal announcement requirement only comes once he is seated and has taken his oath. Now the president has until the end of today Friday 8/8 to send the name to parliament and they must approve (or vote in the council of representatives a confidence level of this candidate) If they get a majority of members to vote confidently on this candidate he will then take the oath and get his mandate as the third prime minister of Iraq. This most likely will not happen today since it is Friday, their holy day. I however expect by Sunday we will be hearing the news they have a new prime minister.
I have said many times, when the USA begins stepping up operations to assist in the issues with the militants ISIS, we are very close to getting the government fully seated and our RV. The USA efforts now are stepping up to fight the militants because they now know that the forming of the Iraq government has turned a milestone and has selected their final candidate for prime minister. They know he will very shortly be seated. They know the council of ministers is also all selected. They are darn sure Maliki is out. Also remember there is looming Iraq budget that desperately needs to be opened and spent. They need to vote and seat this new prime minister and do it quickly.
