Economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi explained on Saturday that the 2027 budget included adding 25,000 barrels per day of crude oil to the Iraqi-Chinese agreement, to ensure the payment of financial obligations due from Iraq and guaranteed by sovereign guarantees.
Al-Marsoumi told Al-Maalouma that “this addition will raise the oil exports allocated to the agreement to 175,000 barrels per day, equivalent to about $3.6 billion during 2027, to implement a group of infrastructure and strategic projects.”
He noted that “the budget allocated $450 million during 2027 for the implementation of the seawater desalination project in Basra, out of a total project cost of $4.412 billion.”
