Brent crude prices rose on Friday to above $117 a barrel, while spot gold prices fell by 2% to their lowest level since November 2025.
Media outlets reported that Brent crude surpassed $117 a barrel amid fears of renewed strikes on Iran and escalating tensions in the region.
Meanwhile, spot gold fell 2.1% to $3,935.26 an ounce, and gold futures dropped 1.9% to $3,955.50.
The decline in gold came amid rising crude oil prices and continued concerns about inflation, which reinforced expectations that the United States would continue to raise interest rates.
