Shafaq News – Washington
US President Donald Trump asserted on Thursday that Iran is doing everything it can to raise oil prices before the US midterm elections by fabricating fake attacks, even though the amount of oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz now exceeds what it was even before the outbreak of the conflict, as he described it.
Trump added in a post on the Truth platform that “Iran continues to kill protesters and anyone who happens to be in its way. It is a truly evil regime, and I can only hope that the American people and the world realize how evil it is! 75,000 protesters have been killed in less than seven months. It is astonishing that the world and the Democratic Party do not care about this.”
Trump concluded his post by saying that “Iran can never have a nuclear weapon, and never will.”
It is worth noting that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed earlier today that the US military’s continued approach in the Strait of Hormuz could lead to the confrontation extending to include its bases in the region.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced that three ships it described as violating the agreement caught fire after hitting a sea mine west of the Strait of Hormuz last night. It also said that four ships transferring oil from one vessel to another in the northern part of the Gulf were hit after being spotted.
The Revolutionary Guard warned that Washington’s insistence on inciting ships to cross the mine-strewn passage in the Strait of Hormuz would lead to an increase in incidents, reiterating its warning that the confrontation would widen if the American approach in the region continues.
