The leader of the Yazidi crowd, Fahd Hamed, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the crowd stopped the oil smuggling operations that the Kurdish parties were practicing in Sinjar.
Hamid said that “influential parties that were linked to the Kurdistan Democratic Party” smuggle oil daily from Nineveh Governorate through Sinjar and passes through Rabia district and then directly to Turkey.
He added that “Sinjar was an important economic resource for the Kurdish democracy, so they are trying to return to it in all ways, and they want to remove the Hashd factions from the judiciary, so that they return to practice theft and smuggling.”
He pointed out that “Sinjar was a center for smuggling oil, iron and other materials stolen from the city of Mosul and the rest of the cities of Nineveh Governorate, and all these businesses were stopped after the expulsion of the Peshmerga in October 2017.”
