Member of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, MP Yassin Hassan, confirmed today, Saturday, that the Central Bank of Iraq has issued urgent instructions to facilitate the procedures for selling dollars to pilgrims to the House of God this season.
Hassan said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The Central Bank directed the opening of branches of the relevant banks in Baghdad and the governorates to receive requests from pilgrims wishing to purchase dollars allocated for travelers,” indicating that “the specified amount is (2,000) dollars for each pilgrim, at the official exchange rate of (1,320) dinars per dollar.”
He added that “this step comes to ease the financial burdens on pilgrims, and ensure that they obtain dollars in an official and organized manner,” noting that “the Central Bank directed that all logistical and administrative arrangements be made to facilitate the exchange process, and ensure its smooth flow before the start of the Hajj season.”
