Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, held the federal government responsible for delaying the salaries of the region’s employees, stressing that the regional government has fulfilled all its obligations in this regard, while also touching on the importance of agreeing on the ministerial cabinet to form the new government.
This came in a statement by Barzani on the occasion of the New Year, which was received by Shafaq News Agency, in which he said, “With the advent of the New Year 2025, I extend my highest congratulations and blessings to all citizens of the Kurdistan Region, wishing everyone continued joy, happiness and prosperity, and a new year full of peace, prosperity and flourishing.”
He added, “I take this opportunity to salute the patriotic and oppressed people of the Kurdistan Region for their steadfastness and determination. It is unfortunate that the fabricated problems and the deprivation of the Region from its financial rights due by the federal government have burdened the salaries of the Region’s recipients, and made them suffer and overcome another year full of financial difficulties.”
He stressed, “Although the Kurdistan Regional Government has fulfilled all its obligations to the fullest extent, it has become necessary to solve this problem radically next year.”
He continued, “We also hope that the talks between the political parties in the Kurdistan Region will culminate in an agreement on the ministerial cabinet, with the aim of forming a unified, strong and comprehensive government that bears its responsibilities and confronts current and future challenges, and serves all components of the region without discrimination.”
He concluded by saying, “Happy New Year to everyone, hoping that it will be a year full of security, peace and construction.”
