Transport announces the opening of Al-Faw Port next October

Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Transport revealed the opening date of the Grand Al-Faw Port, confirming the completion of the third and fourth berths.
A statement by the Ministry’s media office, received by {Al-Furat News}, confirmed, “quoting the Director General of the Iraq Ports Company, Farhan Al-Fartusi, as saying: “The project map in the Grand Al-Faw Port, whether the five berths or the rest of the projects, is proceeding at a high and increasing pace, without any delay, and at advanced rates compared to Planned, under the supervision and continuous support of Minister Razzaq Muhaibes Al-Saadawi.”
The Director General added, “The opening date for the five berths will be next October.”
It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the year 2024, the two berths (one and two) were completed in the Grand Al-Faw Port.
It is noteworthy that the project to establish the container terminal for the Grand Al-Faw Port, which is one of the five projects of the project, includes the construction of five giant berths for unloading ships with a length of (1,750) meters, and the establishment of a container yard with a length of (2,000) metres.
