The Ministry of Justice announced today, Tuesday, the publication of the laws of personal status, general amnesty, and the return of real estate to its owners in the Iraqi Gazette. The ministry stated in a statement that “the new issue of the Iraqi Gazette, No. (4814), was issued, which included a number of laws, regulations, and instructions.”
The Director General of the Department, Haifa Shukr Mahmoud, explained that “the issue included Law No. (1) of 2025 amending Personal Status Law No. (188) of 1959, in addition to the second amendment to General Amnesty Law No. (27) of 2016, and Law No. (3) of 2025 regarding the cancellation of the decisions of the Revolutionary Command Council (dissolved) and the return of properties to their owners.”
She added, “The issue also included Law No. (4) of 2025 regarding the first amendment to the Federal General Budget Law of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal years (2023 – 2024 – 2025) No. (13) of 2023, in addition to System No. (3) of 2025 regarding the first amendment to the civil airport wage system No. (6) of 2018, issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (67) of 2025, as well as Instructions No. (1) of 2025 regarding the implementation of the second amendment to the General Amnesty Law No. (27) of 2016, which became effective as of the date of voting on it in the Iraqi Council of Representatives on 1/21/2025.”
