The Kurdistan Union Announces It: The Next Government Is The Last Chance For The Iraqi Political System
02/05/2022
Earth News/ Member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Mahmoud Khoshnaw, confirmed today, Monday, that the next government is the last chance for the Iraqi political system.
Khoshnaw told Earth News, “There are some outstanding files between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, in addition to pending files between Erbil and Baghdad, some of which are constitutional and others are political, including the issue of forming the Iraqi government.
He added, “Since this government is the last one that will be formed as it is the last opportunity for the Iraqi political system to reconsider its political, administrative, and economic calculations on how to build the state, and the Union does not accept, according to the stage’s data and challenges, to overlook these files and these observations.
From this point of view, we can say that Hourana with the Kurdistan Democratic Party is now closed for these reasons, as Iraq was built on political balances, just as the constitution has been legitimized and passed and written on the basis of these balances.
He explained, “We hope that the Kurdistan Democratic Party will return to political balances and support the Union candidate, Barham Salih, to get out of the crisis and facilitate the way for the other blocs in the framework and the current to come close without interfering in their affairs or organizing into an alliance without another.”
And he indicated that “the union is not allied with the coordination framework, but what is happening between us is the common vision regarding the future of Iraq, where we and the framework seek to have a rapprochement between the Shiite house and the rest of the political blocs, as well as independent representatives and emerging movements.
It is noteworthy that the differences between the political blocs reached advanced stages, which affected the issue of forming the government, especially since the House of Representatives did not succeed in passing the President of the Republic, despite its formation for a period of up to 4 months, due to the ongoing political blockage.
