, a member of the Kurdistan regional negotiating delegation, Dia Boutros, Thursday (February 27, 2020), confirmed that the recent meetings with Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi ended without reaching a result, while he made a request paving the way for voting on his booth.
And Peter said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that “Allawi insists on the same mechanism in choosing ministers and in the issue of dealing with the Kurdistan region, and this complicates the issue,” noting that “matters in the next 48 hours require him flexibility to proceed with the voting process on the cabin Ministerial and all the contract is removed. ”
He added that “Allawi must consult the Kurds in choosing the ministerial positions assigned to them, and there are problems on the issue of budget and salaries of employees, etc., which he pledged during the initial meetings to resolve them.”
And Peter pointed out that “the Kurdish delegation will remain in Baghdad and will have new meetings with Allawi and other political blocs. In the event that Allawi does not appear flexible in the negotiation, things will remain as they are even after 48 hours have passed before the vote on his booth.”

A parliamentary source said, earlier today, that the Kurdish forces ’meeting with the designated Prime Minister, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, ended without reaching an agreement.
The source said (Baghdad today), “The meeting of the Kurdish delegation with Allawi ended without reaching any agreement that would contribute to giving confidence to the new government.”
Earlier, a Kurdish political source revealed, on Thursday (February 27, 2020), that the delegation of the Kurdish blocs negotiating in Baghdad entered a meeting with Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to negotiate the latter on several points, before the session of granting confidence.
The source said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), “The Kurdish delegation called for Allawi to be the ministries of finance and trade, from the Kurdish share, in consultation with the Democratic Party, and the Ministry of Justice in consultation with the National Union.”
He added, “The Kurds presented these points to Allawi, in exchange for the Kurdish parties’ pledge to provide independent personalities who meet Allawi’s conditions.”
The House of Representatives announced, on Thursday (February 27, 2020), the postponement of its special session on voting for the government of the Prime Minister-designate, Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi, until next Saturday.
