The Central Bank of Iraq denied on Sunday the news circulating about raising the ceiling for selling dollars to travelers to $3,500, instead of $2,000.

The Central Bank’s media director, Haider Ghazi, told Shafaq News Agency that what some social media pages have circulated regarding a document about increasing the dollar quota allocated to travelers to $3,500 is fake, stressing that no decision has been issued in this regard.

Pages and media groups circulated a fake document attributed to the Central Bank (Banking Supervision Department) claiming that the bank had decided to raise the quota for travelers starting from Monday, November 2, 2026. The Central Bank categorically denied this, reiterating its commitment to the official instructions and regulations currently in place.
