5-19-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Maliki is finished. There are certain articles that continue to appear that he has a chance but even those are beginning to wain. Numerically the odds are totally against him. The voting results will be either announced Monday or Tuesday. They will be official. It is rumored that the 2 million ballots he stole were passed out to the military giving 2 million soldiers 2 ballots each with which to vote for Maliki. It is also reported that Maliki sent emmissaries illegally to trade plots of Iraqi land for votes, and money in country and overseas to buy votes in Iraq and from Iraqi’s all over the world. 5-17-2014 Newshound Guru Enorrste Article: “In order to revive the Iraqi economy experts: the diversity of the currency basket is the best solution to address the low value of the dinar against other currencies” In my opinion this article is discussing how to tie the dinar into the world economy after it finds equilibrium rather than as a means to create an artificial value…the economist is stating that one of the best solutions to solving the low value of the dinar, and to bring it to a “real value,” is to float it against “the diversity of the reserve with the Central Bank.” It is this float that “will make us deal” with the true value of the dinar…he specifically states that before moving to a basket of currencies the dinar must be allowed to float based on “all economic activities” rather than just on an economy based on oil production. A gradual appreciation from 1166 is very profitable for Iraq as the dinar rises, the CBI buys/sells controlling the pace as a monetary tool receiving commissions just like they do now with the currency auctions. Iraq wants the globe to have confidence in the country and their ability to maintain their own funds understandably. they are going to have international banking…and no one is concerned with the accounts they have with their control being given to Iraq. IMO this is a law that is intended to stop anyone thinking of going to Iraq to cash out. It is not specifically written for that but it opens the door for the US to inquire about any US citizen’s private bank account in Iraq. You have a country with close to 1/3 of its demographic controlled by terrorists. These terrorists are destroying the infrastructure, bridges, roads, buildings, electric, waterways and as this article states..they control these banks. You think that the CBI is going to raise the value during all of this? While they still are not in compliance with the IMF? Not happening. I said it over and over, watch the GOI, watch Parliament. The economic reform laws and banking laws need to pass. As well this terrorist issue needs to be resolved. And the CBI needs to meet the conditions set forth within the Article IV Consultation from May 2013. Nothing happens fast in Iraq. Everyone needs to relax and plan for late 2014 at best. Read more…

It makes no sense when these banks are currently nothing more than money exchangers so commissions are important to them. We can guess that the issuance of new dinar may have curbed some desire to use dollars in the market. But the Iraqi economy still needed dollars for imports. Why they are low is anyone’s guess but these auctions are important to maintain the exchange rate and…to reduce the spread from Official Rate to Market Rate. 5-1-2014 Newshound Guru chattels THERE IS NO CURRENCY AUCTION REPORT SINCE SATURDAY (as of 4:30 A.M. EST, 1 May 2014). Presumably the CBI is closed at least on the 1st, which is today, the day after the election. The government holiday begins tomorrow and through to next Sunday. It will be interesting to observe whether the currency auctions will continue during the government holiday over the next seven ( 7 ) days. NOW WHAT? The countdown to election day is over. Will Maliki be evicted ? The coming days will be telling. First, we await the tabulation of votes, challenges and appeals must run their course, and then we should have a certification of the results and know which cluster received a plurality of the vote. It appears that they will try and approve the 2014 and 2015 budgets at the same time. Or possibly just skip the 2014 budget. This is not done by any other country but Iraq. 4-28-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar [The CBI told us they need to print new 50, 250 and 1000…with the new technology…Asked how long the new printing of the 50.. 250 and 1000 should take…?] Approximately about one to one and a half months from the day the contract was let the new currency should be ready to pass out. So these new notes should begin replacing the existing notes and circulating no later than sometime in June IMO…That’s why I believe the first chance we will have to potentially see an RV is July1st, which also happens to coincide with the new accounting period. The CBI under both Shabibi and now Turki have stated their desire to not implement this project in the middle of an accounting period…I believe the way the timing on everything is lining up means that July 1st is the next most likely target. After all is said and done, WHY would there have to be an RV at all?] Well, there doesn’t have to be an RV at all, as you stated. But all the talk about strengthening the value has to mean something! The HCL is “magical” because it paves the way for Iraq to burst out of it’s current situation. It ties in very strongly with the recent progress on transferring money in and out of Iraq, and the CBI opening up for additional account holders (aka brokers) to facilitate money transfers. …if you’re asking my opinion – all this recent news is extremely good for someone holding onto dinar with the hopes that the value will rise. The conference will include bilateral meetings between the governor of the Iraqi Central Bank and the executive heads of the Lebanese banks operating in Iraq. 4 more Lebanese Banks applied for licenses to open branches in different Iraqi cities… they are not opening banks and putting these huge investments out for pennies.
