7-18-2014 Intel Guru SteveI The parliament [is] now complete. Iraq has a full sworn in (under oath) parliament. This is huge, actually the best news yet because the completed parliament has the power to move the country forward. Now is the million dollar question, who will be the next Prime Minister of Iraq. I can assure you the the current one is no longer a factor. The Prime Minister is submitted by the largest bloc and yes, the parliament approves him too. The parliament has full control at this point. This again is huge with respect to our investment…the next Prime Minister can appoint a new Governor of the CBI. Read more…

7-16-2014 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG The big news is Jubouri was elected as Speaker of the House, and 2 or 3 deputies. Maliki was asked to leave Parliament because he had no business there & was escorted out. When Parliament was sworn in, I think it was the beginning of the end for Maliki. IMO, as soon as this government is seated and settled, one of the first conversations will be financial reform, economic reform and currency reform. Currency reform is not going away. It is a very very public topic. So, once all the roadblocks are out of the way you will see something done about that in very short order. I think in the next few days there will be some resolution to this whole government situation. This is magnificent news for our investment and for Iraq. Good things coming in the next few days. 7-14-2014 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Article: “The stability of the dinar exchange shares in maintaining the prices of goods” Quote: “The exchange rate of the dinar in 1220 dinars banking offices in the official exchange rate of 1166 dinars and the price is stable, as the increase up to 2 percent represents an acceptable price and stable, according to financial expert, the appearance of Dr. Mohammed Saleh.” Glad to see Saleh confirm the 2% spread. As well, he makes a very solid statement that the Iraqi dinar would be considered a “hard currency” if not for the absence of mechanisms…which to me means open the currency to the world (Article VIII) and a new Exchange Regime (they must get off the peg and on to some sort of float)…only currencies that float are considered “hard currencies”. The last few days of CBI news does give me more optimism about the banking system. For sure the CBI is pressing forward to prepare for the day of Article VIII and a new Exchange Regime. Imo, Iraq is now prepared to implement and take full advantage of the funds and many advantages of this Org…this accession is huge…major steps continue to take place behind the scenes…that bring Iraq to a place where they are ready to have a strong dinar in front of them. The reality is everyone…nobody wants to admit it, but this is a real bad situation…not only for Iraq but for us as investors…when these types of events happen (terrorists taking over a province) or Maliki (refusing to leave)…the end result is not only an escalation in violence but the destruction of years of hard work rebuilding the infrastructure. 7-5-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar We are on hold because Tuesday the 1st of this week parliament met, was sworn in then adjourned planning on this coming week to finish. This coming Tuesday, the 8th, is critically important to our investment. They are planning on nominating the POP first, then the President, then his two deputies and lastly the PM, all in one day. I hope they are ready to go and can get it done as they think. When they get that done the new government will be announced and seated. Next will follow within days the RV of the currency ($3.25 – $3.65). This is the plan and we better hope it is successful. Maliki must be taken down in this session. If not and the plan fails, it won’t be pretty for our investment and there will be a likely hood of a civil war between the Shia and the Sunni. Read more…

It may take several months. Suppose that the Kurds are successful and that they vote to leave. It is clear from other articles that such a vote would be successful. What then? The answer is this: 62 total votes will leave the Iraqi Parliament, leaving only 266 total members in the Iraqi Parliament. This would mean that it would take only 134 votes for a candidate to form a new government rather than the current 165 votes. We also see…that they are nominating 3 candidates rather than just one. They are nominating Maliki, Mahdi, and Chalabi. As the new Parliament opens, then, the debate will begin in earnest (after the choosing of the 3 presidents, which may take a few days, although I doubt it). The debate will then be open for all to vote, rather than just the NA. This means that the entire 328 members will be choosing between the 3 nominees. 6-29-2014 Intel Guru TD (So what is the significance of July 1st ? ) . Well, I can tell you FOR SURE that it is NOT the END GAME. At best, July 1st represents the( hopeful) union of parliament to START to form a new government. And as of right now so many variables are at play that it’s a statistical nightmare trying to predict the outcome. One very certain consensus is that NO ONE wants Maliki and till he goes the pieces won’t even start to come together. IF and WHEN a suitable functioning government starts back working on the people’s business (AND ONLY THEN) will other issues left on the table be possible to address including IMF compliance, economic reform laws passed, etc. Read more…
